I thought I'd make my thoughts clear while I'm still thinking about them.

I used to nearly hate Furries, they creeped me out. Though I never minded the anthro creature, in-fact I always have liked them. I even drew them myself before I really knew they had a termination (IE Feladai and various unposted old art) I've determined the difference finally. Its not that I dislike furries, I dislike furry costumes.

I see nothing wrong with drawing a human/animal hybrid creature that is your internal self as you see it. Or having a tattoo or story for your anthro self. Anthro art doesn't bother me at all, I like most of it. (aside from the porny stuff, don't get me wrong, I'm not anti dirty stuff, thats just not my cup of tea) Anthro people can perhaps portray more personality than a human character even. I know many people who feel a spiritual connection to an animal , including myself. (I actually have a double connection, being dragon and jaguar, though the dragon is the current primary)  I have met a few people who call themselves furries, and they are fine and wonderful people. (mostly)

Its just those costumes. Those awful, hokey, multi colored, glorified mascot costumes that look NOTHING like the animal you are trying to represent. To me its almost insulting to the animal you are trying to connect with. I understand WHY you do it, I just, don't like it. It's my opinion, nothing more. If the costumes they have weren't so hokey perhaps it wouldn't bother me so much. I just can't see dressing up in a sweaty, plastic, heavy fabric, possibly some wire and fake fur suit and claiming your an animal. Its not convincing and seems horrendously uncomfortable...  

I don't mean to insult anyone, really I don't I just felt I had to make a statement about this particular subject. Not sure why I felt I needed to say it, I just did.

At least this Journal isn't depressing!!! XD
